A new subscription feature has just been added to Tomtey! Writers now have the option to create a subscription based book on Tomtey. Readers will be able to subscribe to a book and receive a portion of the book at a consistent interval. For example, the writer could offer a chapter of the book every week.

The writer will be able to choose how many subscribers will be the minimum and the deadline for subscribers. The minimum will be a tipping point. After the minimum number is reached, all subscribers will get a portion of the book. If the tipping point isn’t reached by the deadline, none of the subscribers will get the portion. This will encourage early subscribers to find new subscribers.

Go to the Write page (http://tomtey.com/write/) to submit your book! Also, here is a sample page for subscription books: http://tomtey.com/sample-book-page/

Please keep in mind that you can still submit non-subscription books just as before. However, subscription based books will be featured on the front page to help them reach their tipping point. As always, if you have any questions you can email through the form on the About page (http://tomtey.com/about) or send a message on Twitter @TomteyBooks

I’ve been working on improving the way books are organized on the read page. There are two new features that some of you may have already noticed.

First, there is now pagination. Currently, the Read page has 39 covers per page. This of course means that many covers will be pushed several pages deep and off of the front page. Which leads to the newest feature…a voting system!

The new voting system allows for any registered user to vote on the books they like. The user has to be registered so the voting can be effectively limited. Each user can vote a maximum of one time per book, and authors can vote on their own if they like. There is only voting up and no voting down. Everyday, the total vote will be tabulated and the covers will be assorted from most votes to least. To make sure that new postings get attention, the first two rows will still be reserved for the newest additions to the gallery, but the rest of the covers will be organized by vote total.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
